Looking for Hitex? Consider Voltoid® V-090!
Hitex is a material from another supplier of electrical barriers. It is made from unbleached Kraft pulp. It has high dielectric and mechanical strength and low water absorption, which causes it to be specified frequently as a barrier in electrical devices – coils, transformers, motors, lights, battery packs, etc. It carries a U.L. 94 flame class rating of 94HB – slow burning.
By contrast, ISI’s Voltoid V-090 is a blend of organic and inorganic fibers and specially formulated inorganic fillers bound in a proprietary latex matrix. It too has good dielectric strength as well as a glow-wire ignitability rating of more than 900°C. In addition, V-090 carries the highest U.L. 94 rating of 5VA for flame resistance, as well as a Relative Thermal Index (RTI) rating up to 140°C. In other words, Voltoid V-090 is inflammable, and that feature makes it an affordable electrical barrier that also protects manufacturers of electrical equipment from the liability of equipment-related fires in homes and workplaces. |
